Like how we learned during the library presentation, the way that you carefully select your keywords and use certain Boolean operators to refine your search is helpful when you are writing a research paper on a specific topic. I have always known about the existence of databases and have used them from time to time, but I never really knew the exact way to go about using them correctly. Additionally, this chapter talks about how to use Google better when you are looking for academic sources, and the ways to weed out the information that you do not want with advanced searching techniques. Getting to learn a little bit about how to get better results while searching has helped me a lot.

This chapter also opened my eyes to different ways of acquiring information than just searching on the internet, such as using government documents, podcasts, and chat rooms on whatever it is that you are looking for. This chapter provides a good place to start thinking about where you are going to go for your sources and how to get a variety of different mediums from which you can conduct your research.
