Blog #8: MMH 21 and/or 22
Although I am very familiar with MLA style, there are still some types of sources that I struggle with citing correctly, such as visual sources, e-mails, or radio shows. As time goes on, more and more types sources become acceptable to be incorporated into academic papers and research. Although this is great, and shows that as a society, we have the ability to move forward and take on new ways of doing things, like tweeting, making YouTube videos, and podcasting, it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the way that we are supposed to cite these new sources. While it may be a pain to constantly check if you are citing something the right way, it is necessary to make these new, innovate ways of sourcing more accepted and taken seriously in the academic world. The handbook is an easy way to make sure you aren’t making any mistakes.
